State Secretary mag. Monika Kirbiš Rojs attends the Development Council of the Pomurje Region online event
Ljubljana, 18 February 2022 – State Secretary mag. Monika Kirbiš Rojs attended the Development Council of the Pomurje Region online event where she presented the activities regarding the Partnership Agreement for the period 2021-2027 and the Programme for the implementation of the European Cohesion Policy in the period 2021-2027.
The online event took place between 10 and 11 am and was organised by the Development Council of the Pomurje Region, namely the Murska Sobota Development Centre. The main event had seven items on the agenda, namely:
- information on the activities regarding the Partnership Agreement for the period 2021-2027 and the bases of the Programme for the implementation of the European Cohesion Policy in the period 2021-2027,
- information on the possibilities of establishing an out-of-the hours dental service,
- information on the issue of sludge removal from municipal sewage treatment plants,
- the initiative of the Municipality Gornja Radgona to support the project Expansion of the Mele Industrial Zone,
- the importance and role of the Public Fund of the Republic of Slovenia for Cultural Activities,
- presentation of the regional office of the Olympic Committee of Slovenia – Sport Societies Association, and
- information on ongoing activities.
Under the first item on the agenda, State Secretary mag. Monika Kirbiš Rojs gave a detailed presentation of the Partnership Agreement and the Programme for the implementation of the EU Cohesion Policy in the period 2021-2027.
In her address, the State Secretary also underlined that EU Cohesion Policy support should be used to establish a partnership between different governance levels, reduce development disparities and ensure comparable living conditions in all living environments.
The State Secretary underlined that currently 565 projects are being implemented in the Pomurje region, namely 486 projects under the Investment for Growth and Jobs goal in the total value of EUR 115.48 million, and 79 projects under the European Territorial Cooperation goal in the total amount of EUR 41.28 million.
The participants concluded the one-hour online event with a joint discussion and exchange of views on the topical issues and challenges in the Pomurje region.
