Ljubljana, 17 August 2021 – Government Office for Development and European Cohesion Policy has approved EU funding for the project Arrangement of sustainable mobility in the city centre of Urban Municipality Slovenj Gradec. The project worth EUR 1.5 million will be implemented by the Urban Municipality Slovenj Gradec and will receive EU support with the contribution from the Cohesion Fund standing at EUR 633 thousand.
As part of the project, Urban Municipality Slovenj Gradec will arrange streets in the city centre by also arranging footpaths and areas in accordance with the principle of a common traffic regime, replacing pavements, arranging urban equipment, greening and establishing community infrastructure. The total length of newly arranged footpaths and areas for mixed traffic where priority is given to pedestrians and cyclists is 610 metres. The investment will reduce carbon dioxide emissions and promote trips made by non-motorised modes of transport.
