Ljubljana, 23 April 2021 – Government Office for Development and European Cohesion Policy has approved funding for the project “Cycling connection between settlements and neighbouring municipalities along the state road R2-438/1307 from the settlement Črnci to the settlement Vratja vas – Phase 1 and continuity”. The project implemented under the Agreement on the Development of the Pomurje Region is worth EUR 700 thousand with the European Regional Development Fund contribution standing at EUR 241 thousand.

As part of the project, municipality Apače will develop the missing section of the cycling connection between Črnci and Žepovci in the total length of 2,716 meters and width of 2.5 metres. The investment will be implemented simultaneously with the reconstruction of the regional road between Gornja Radgona and the Trate border crossing point.

The planned cycling route will be connected to the already established cycling route stretching from the settlement Črnci to the settlement Apače, and then connecting to the cycling route which stretches from the settlement Segovci to the settlement Lutverci with the latter being developed with state budget funding and connecting to the already established cycling route Mura Cycling Path in the area between the municipality Apače and the municipality Gornja Radgona and the administrative centre Gornja Radgona.

The project supported by EU funding will result in establishing a continuous cycling route between the city of Gornja Radgona and the settlement Žepovci in the total length of 11 kilometres.
