EU Project, My Project – over 40 events between 12 and 19 May 2018
We’ve been investing in success stories for years.
Get to know them between 12 and 19 May at more than 40 events across Slovenia and find out why EU project is YOUR project too.
Ljubljana, 23 April 2018 – EU funding that has been channelled through the European Regional Development Fund, the European Social Fund and the Cohesion Fund has supported countless success stories of individuals, organisations, and companies in Slovenia in the past 15 years. Over 6,000 environment, infrastructure, sports, entrepreneurship or education projects have already been delivered to date. These projects can be found in almost every corner of our country, yet they too often go unnoticed. Nevertheless, one thing is for sure - EU-funded projects are a proof that EU money makes a real and significant difference, and makes life better for all of us. Over EUR 4 billion have been allocated to the projects, and another EUR 3 billion is to be invested by the end of 2023 when the 2014-2020 period will come to an end. Each EU-funded project is our project too. That is why the Government Office for Development and European Cohesion Policy is launching the EU Project, My Project open days already for the fourth time in a row. To date, over 17,000 visitors have been part of the open days. This year, some of the EU-funded projects will have the opportunity of welcoming visitors and presenting their work and achievements through a series of interesting workshops for all generations, interactive exhibitions, puppets shows, hiking, sports activities and other fun activities. Join us between 12 and 19 May at over 40 events that will take place in more than 20 Slovenian towns and cities.
Slovenian authorities wish to spread the word about the indelible traces left by the EU-funded projects across Slovenia. Each job created, participation in a training programme, each kilometre of a road, cycling route or railway constructed, each square metre of a research and educational infrastructure built, each incentive for enterprises offered and each health service improved creates opportunities for further successful development of our country. There are numerous funding opportunities open in 2014-2020, and over EUR 1.8 billion of funding has already been invested in over 300 calls for proposals, programmes or projects that help business ideas come true, unleash the innovative and creative potential, build knowledge, foster lifelong learning and create jobs. EU funding opens an array of opportunities for first-job seekers as well as senior workers who need to adapt to new technologies and job demands through upskilling and reskilling.
Part of this story of success are the projects that will open their doors in Ajdovščina, Brežice, Celje, Črnomelj, Grosuplje, Koper, Krško, Ljubljana, Logatec, Maribor, Martjanci, Metlika, Nova Gorica, Pivka, Planica, Postojna, Radlje ob Dravi, Tolmin, Trbovlje, Velenje, Vrhnika and Žalec.
Join us between 12 and 19 May and be part of the ‘EU Project, My Project’ campaign which runs under the ‘Europe in My Region’ campaign, an EU-wide campaign launched by the European Commission encouraging citizens to discover European projects near them.
