EU funds support raising health literacy in Slovenia

Government Office for Development and European Cohesion Policy, the Managing Authority for EU Structural Funds and the Cohesion Fund, has issued a grant decision for the project Raising health literacy in Slovenia. The project is worth a good EUR 1.7 million. European Social Fund contribution stands at a little under EUR 1.4 million.

The long-term and mail objective of the project is to ensure coordinated activities in raising the health literacy of patients with chronic diseases or conditions. The project will conduct a survey to assess health literacy, prepare an overview of the activities of the health system in this field and, based on the obtained results, develop a tool for raising health literacy. The project activities will involve health organisations, various experts and policy makers, NGOs, local communities, families and individuals.
