EU funds bring us closer together: Travelling photography exhibition showcasing good stories that connect Slovenia
Ljubljana, 16 November 2020 – Government Office for Development and European Cohesion Policy has joined forces with municipalities across Slovenia and organised a photography exhibition called ''EU funds bring us closer together''. The exhibition will be hosted in several development regions by the end of June 2021, when finally moving to Brdo pri Kranju to stay there during the Slovenian Presidency of the Council of the European Union in the second half of 2021. The first visitors will get the opportunity to see the displays in the Land of Storks park in Velika Polana.
The exhibition has been prepared to highlight the way EU-funded projects help spur development across the country and pave the way for coming and working together in a variety of areas. Indeed, EU funds bring us together in many different ways, each and every day and every step of the way. EU funds connect us as we drive on newly built roads and cycling paths. EU funds connect us as we walk across new bridges or use the P+R services and cycle to work. EU funds bring children together as they play at safe and fun playgrounds. EU funds connect school-age children as they work and have fun together. EU funds connect the young and the old as they help each other. EU funds connect employees as they work together towards common goals. EU funds bring us together as we care for our environment, fight to conserve nature, learn to get new knowledge and skills and build business ideas. EU funds connect us through the thousands of projects we created together - in municipalities and regions across the whole of Slovenia.
With so many good EU-funded projects out there, it is virtually impossible to showcase them all, so we have picked just some of the interesting projects carried out in the 12 development regions for you to see what our beneficiaries have achieved. We hope that by working together we will be able to create many more success stories in the future. We invite you to visit our website and learn more about other success stories and the future of Cohesion Policy on our dedicated website.
The photography exhibition has been organised in partnership with municipalities Benedikt, Celje, Cirkulane, Grosuplje, Krško, Ljubljana, Lukovica, Mirna Peč, Murska Sobota, Novo mesto, Ribnica, Semič, Šentjur and Velika Polana and beneficiaries who carried out the projects.
