EU funding to support innovative startups

Ljubljana, 3 February 2021 – Government Office for Development and European Cohesion Policy has issued a funding decision for the call for proposals Financial incentives for innovation startups in 2021. The call for proposals makes a total of EUR 2.16 million available, of which over EUR 1.56 million comes from the European Regional Development Fund. The Slovene Enterprise Fund will publish the call for proposals next week.

The call for proposals aims to support the development of businesses and helps innovative individuals and groups pursue bright business ideas to turn them into successfully functioning businesses. The call for proposals provides funding to support the creation of innovative businesses with growth potential and puts spotlight on the development and commercialisation of products, services and processes.

The goal of the call for proposals is to have most of the supported businesses fully operating, providing job opportunities, recording net sales turnover and making profit even after three years of being granted support. Additionally, some of the supported businesses are expected to have strategic investors or venture capitalists involved.   

The call for proposals will be open to micro and small-sized businesses with a registered office in the Republic of Slovenia.
