EU funding for youth career centres
Ljubljana, 20 June 2018 – Government Office for Development and European Cohesion Policy, the Managing Authority for ERDF, ESF and Cohesion Fund, issued a grant decision for the ‘’Call for proposals for co-financing the projects of youth career centres’’. A total of EUR 2.5 million is made available under the call for proposals, of which EUR 2 million comes from the European Social Fund.
The call for proposals aims to co-finance two multi-year projects of youth career centres which will facilitate access to career guidance and counselling services for school-age youth.
Both youth career centres will deliver a number of activities, including by actively engaging young people in the process to understand their interests and abilities, and helping them identify the labour market and employers’ needs and the right job opportunities, with a view to empowering them and helping them make informed, confident and tailored career choices. The career centres will complement and provide support to career guidance and counselling activities of school counsellors and parents, and will help develop new approaches to delivering career guidance services that target school-age youth. The programmes and activities delivered by the career centres will be designed and implemented so as to complement and upgrade career guidance and counselling activities offered at schools.
Two youth career centre projects will be co-financed; one in cohesion region Vzhodna Slovenija and the other one in cohesion region Zahodna Slovenija. Each youth career centre will see at least three branch offices set up in each of the two cohesion regions.
