EU funding for the development of pedestrian and cycling infrastructure in Ptuj
Ljubljana, 6 February 2020 – Government Office for Development and European Cohesion Policy, the Managing Authority for the ERDF, the ESF and the Cohesion Fund, has issued a grant decision for the project Development of pedestrian and cycling infrastructure along the Gregorčič alley. The project budget amounts to EUR 580,000; the Cohesion Fund will contribute over EUR 240,000 under the ITI mechanism.
The project will include the construction of sidewalks and cycling lanes on both sides of the alley to help improve pedestrian and bicycle safety while reducing environmental impacts of motorised traffic. The goal of the project is to promote sustainable mobility and utility cycling among Ptuj residents to encourage voluntary change in their travel behaviour.
