EU funding for the development and promotion of tourism in Slovenia
Ljubljana, 7 March 2018 – Government Office for Development and European Cohesion Policy, the Managing Authority for ERDF, ESF and Cohesion Fund, issued a grant decision for the ‘’Call for proposals for co-financing the development and promotion of tourism offer of the leading tourist destinations in Slovenia’’. The call makes a total of EUR 4.6 million available, of which EUR 3.7 million comes from the European Regional Development Fund.
The call aims to support the development of and to enhance the promotion of tourism offer of the 34 top-ranking destinations in Slovenia. In particular, the call is focused on exploiting the potentials of digital promotion by taking further the digital promotion and marketing activities in international markets. The planned activities include the use of improved digital advertising tactics and strategies for advertising top Slovenian tourist destinations, building of a consistent and marketing-efficient brand image and identity of top destinations that matches the country brand identity, focus on the selected market segments and priority markets, improvement of visitor experience and enhancement of the competitiveness of Slovenian tourism industry both at the level of individual destinations and the country itself. The activities are expected to result in the increase in tourist arrivals and overnight stays, and in inflow arising from growth of travel exports.
Fostering of digital promotion and development of tourist products creates a business environment that ensures fast-paced growth and expansion of the selected businesses.
