EU funding for social inclusion of people with disabilities
Ljubljana, 7 October 2019 - Government Office for Development and European Cohesion Policy, Managing Authority for EU Structural Funds and the Cohesion Fund, has issued a grant award decision for the call for proposals Development and testing of services for the social inclusion of people with disabilities. The funding available under the call for proposals amounts to EUR 2,45 million, of which EUR 1.3 million will be allocated to the cohesion region Vzhodna Slovenija, and EUR 1.2 million to the cohesion region Zahodna Slovenija. European Social Fund contribution stands at 80% i.e., EUR 1.96 million.
The call for proposals aims to provide services for the social inclusion of people with disabilities and to contribute to establishing a supportive environment (network of service providers) for their empowered inclusion in society, helping them stay in their local environment or community for as long as possible with appropriate help and support. The results of the pilot implementation will serve as the crucial basis for creating a national system for providing accessible, sustainable, and quality social inclusion services for people with disabilities.
The call for proposals will co-finance two pilot projects focusing on developing and pilot testing services for the social inclusion of people with disabilities, as defined in the Social Inclusion of Disabled Persons Act. The main objectives of the call for proposals are to develop the set, the content, and conditions for the implementation and testing of such services, which will contribute to the empowerment of people from the target group for more successful inclusion in society. The target group is people with permanent congenital or acquired disabilities who, due to their disability, cannot socially integrate into the community without social inclusion services and cannot independently meet most or all of their needs to lead an independent life and thus provide for themselves.
For more information, please contact the Ministry of Labour, Family, Social Affairs and Equal Opportunities, which will publish the call for proposals shortly.
