EU funding for promoting participation of workers at risk of losing their jobs in active labour market measures

Ljubljana, 5 June 2018 – Government Office for Development and European Cohesion Policy, the Managing Authority for ERDF, ESF and Cohesion Fund, issued a grant decision for the programme ‘’Promoting participation of workers at risk of losing their jobs in active labour market measures – Ready for change’’. The programme makes EUR 4 million available, of which a little under EUR 3.2 million comes from the European Social Fund.

The programme aims to promote the participation of workers at risk of losing their jobs in active labour market measures. By providing comprehensive support in the form of career information, motivation, career counselling, training and education, the programme seeks to contribute to building and improving the participants’ competencies, know-how and skills to match the concrete needs defined by employers in the labour market. At the same time, the programme aims to improve the participants’ qualifications and supports the development of skills to empower them for taking career into their own hands. The active labour market measures will help the participants either stay in employment or facilitate the take up of another post or a new job. The objective of the programme is to reach out to at least 3,000 individuals whose job is at risk. The needs of this specific target group have been somewhat overlooked so far.
