EU funding for mobility of students from disadvantaged socioeconomic backgrounds for Association of Slovene Higher Vocational Colleges and University of Maribor
Ljubljana, 2 August 2018 – Government Office for Development and European Cohesion Policy, the Managing Authority for ERDF, ESF and Cohesion Fund, issued a grant decision for a mobility programme targeting students from disadvantaged socioeconomic backgrounds. A total of EUR 111,200 of ESF resources will be awarded to a EUR 139,000 mobility programme delivered at Association of Slovene Higher Vocational Colleges and University of Maribor.
The funding aims at mobilising the students from disadvantaged socioeconomic backgrounds for participation in international mobility projects. It is expected that the students – programme target group – will gain new skills, competences and build expertise, while improving foreign language skills, learning how to work and live in a different environment, building adaptability and social skills, and become more independent and confident. Such students will benefit from international experience and learning in a global environment by becoming more competitive on Slovenian labour market, while internationalisation-oriented activities will make the higher education system more quality and more open to further internationalisation, which will, through future work of graduates with international experience, indirectly affect other spheres of society, supporting their internationalisation.
