EU funding for innovative youth employment projects
Ljubljana, 9 May 2018 – Government Office for Development and European Cohesion Policy, the Managing Authority for ERDF, ESF and Cohesion Fund, issued a grant decision for the Call for proposals for co-financing innovative youth employment projects in 2018 and 2019. The call, which is to be published next week by the Ministry of Labour, Family, Social Affairs and Equal Opportunities, makes a total of EUR 600,000 available. The contribution from the European Social Fund stands at over EUR 500,000.
The key objective of the call for proposals is to provide funding and support for one innovative youth employment initiative in each of the two Slovenian cohesion regions. The supported initiative should reach young people aged up to 28 currently out of employment by mobilising them into work through targeted activation measures, and should encourage proactive labour market integration through creation and improvement of employment opportunities.
Unemployed young people will participate in project activities that will help them gain and develop the skills, competences and knowledge that are indispensable for an active job search. The activities will include potential employer organisations, while partnerships with other labour market players will be supported with a view to bringing down youth unemployment. Each participant will receive a certificate upon successful completion of project activities, giving the employer organisations that are either in contact with the relevant unemployed person or show interest in giving such person a job, the chance of receiving wage subsidies under a wage subsidy programme launched in the scope of the project ‘Youth Employment Incentives’.
