EU funding for innovative businesses

Ljubljana, 13 February 2020 - Government Office for Development and European Cohesion Policy, Managing authority for European Structural Funds and the Cohesion Fund, has issued a grant decision for the call for proposals “Incentives for starting innovative companies in 2020 (P2 2020)”, which is expected to be published by the Slovenian Enterprise Fund next Friday. The total amount of funds intended for the implementation of the call is EUR 2.16 million, of which the European Regional Development Fund will contribute more than EUR 1.56 million.

The purpose of the call is the development of companies and the successful transfer of development ideas of entrepreneurial individuals and groups into market-successful companies and the creation of new innovative companies with growth potential, with emphasis on development and commercialization of products, processes and services.

The aim of the call for tenders is to promote entrepreneurship, in particular by facilitating the economic exploitation of new ideas and by encouraging the creation of new businesses, including business incubators. The essential goals of the public tender achieved after the lapse of three years from the approval will be the successful operation of most of the supported companies and the entry of a strategic investor or venture capital investors in a few supported companies.
