EU funding for housing communities for vulnerable groups in Murska Sobota

Ljubljana, 26 November 2019Government Office for Development and European Cohesion Policy, Managing Authority for ESIF and Cohesion Fund, has issued a grant decision for the project “Housing communities for vulnerable groups”. The project is worth over EUR 517,000 and will receive over EUR 196,000 of Regional Development Fund support in the frame of Integrated Territorial Investments (ITS) instrument.

The Public Housing Fund of the Municipality of Murska Sobota will revitalise two buildings and arrange housing units for vulnerable target groups (6 housing units for the elderly and 12 housing units for the homeless). This will eliminate social degradation resulting from unmaintained or poorly maintained facilities, which have become a haven for various groups, including addicts. The two buildings will thus be upgraded with new housing units, and after the renovation, the implementation of certain programmes will improve the quality of life and the inclusion of these vulnerable groups.
