Ljubljana, 7 September 2020 – Government Office for Development and European Cohesion Policy has issued a grant decision for the programme “Mobility of students from socially-disadvantaged areas for 2019, University of Primorska”. The said programme is one of the several initiatives through which the Ministry of Education, Science and Sport each academic year supports the mobility of students of Slovene universities.

The programmes aim to enhance foreign exchange of Slovene students from socially-disadvantaged areas which will enable gaining new skills to meet labour market needs. In addition to gaining new competencies and expertise the students will also improve their language skills, get an insight into how to function in different environments, learn to adapt, cooperate and become more independent and more confident. Their experience abroad would improve the students’ competitiveness in the labour market after finishing their studies. Improved and internationally open higher education and the future actions of higher education graduates will have an indirect effect also on the internationalisation of other social groups.

Programmes are implemented with the help of grants awarded in the framework of the Operational Programme for the Implementation of the EU Cohesion Policy 2014-2020 under the Erasmum+ programme.
