EU funding for energy efficient renovation of the Jesenice General Hospital buildings

Ljubljana, 19 April 2019 – Government Office for Development and European Cohesion Policy, the Managing Authority for ESF, ERDF and Cohesion Fund, has issued a grant decision for the project ‘’Energy efficient renovation of the Jesenice General Hospital buildings’’ worth EUR 6.8 million. The Cohesion Fund contribution to the projects amounts to EUR 1.7 million.

The investment comprises comprehensive energy renovation of the building housing specialised outpatient clinics, the main hospital building and the building with a liver dialysis unit and an x-ray unit. An estimated 14,633 m2 net surface area will be renovated. The project aims to address the technical deficiencies in the building envelope and installation systems of the buildings that currently waste too much energy, reduce primary energy consumption and in turn reduce environmental burden of hospital activities, ensure that the buildings undergoing deep energy renovation become energy efficient and sustainable, and improve comfort, experience and well-being of the patients, visitors and hospital staff.
