EU funding for easier labour market reintegration

Ljubljana, 29 April 2020 – Government Office for Development and European Cohesion Policy, the Managing Authority for the ERDF, the ESF and the Cohesion Fund, has issued a funding decision for the project ''Early vocational rehabilitation in the return-to-work process’’. The project, which will be implemented by the University Rehabilitation Institute Soča, is worth nearly EUR 873,000 and is to receive a contribution from the European Social Fund amounting to almost EUR 699,000.

The project aims to support the elaboration of expert baselines underpinning the development of a new comprehensive model of early vocational rehabilitation. The latter will facilitate the safe and timely return to work for individuals with chronic conditions or disabilities. The project will include 100 insured workers who recovered from injury or illness, 300 employers from the public and private sector and experts.

The framework and guidelines for provision of vocational rehabilitation services will be designed on the basis of a pilot implementation of the new model of comprehensive rehabilitation.
The project will facilitate the workplace reintegration of persons who experience a reduction in work capacity or capability, whether this is due to invalidity, illness or ageing, help improve the quality of their life and contribute to making better use of the skills and knowledge of professionals in the areas of occupational medicine, employment and vocational rehabilitation.
