EU funding for cultural and creative industries
Ljubljana, 1 March 2019 – Government Office for Development and European Cohesion Policy, the Managing Authority for ERDF, ESF and Cohesion Fund, has issued a grant decision for the call for proposals ‘’Promoting cultural and creative industries – Centre for Creativity 2019’’ which was published by the Ministry of Culture in the Official Gazette. The budget set aside for the call amounts to EUR 880,000, of which EUR 645,000 comes from the European Regional Development Fund.
Funding under the call for proposals will be provided for the development of innovative projects and businesses in the creative and cultural sectors, for the development of new products, services and processes by applicants (businesses and other organisations), and for strengthening the links between the cultural and creative sectors and the economy.
Support will be given to the projects that are created at the crossroads of arts, culture, market, entrepreneurship and business and merge creativity, production and distribution of goods and services, while producing and distributing goods and services that contain cultural content or express cultural identity. The projects are expected to be feasible and commercially viable, they are supposed to add more value or address specific societal issues, which should in turn contribute to social progress and welfare.
The call for proposals complements the action of the ‘’Centre for Creativity’’, a project which has been designed as a ‘’multidisciplinary platform that connects, promotes, presents and supports the activities and development of Slovenia’s cultural and creative sector’’ and is implemented by the Museum of Architecture and Design.
