Ljubljana, 18 September 2020 – Government Office for Development and European Cohesion Policy has issued a funding decision for the project Business incubator network – Commercial building Aurea Gorica pri Slivnici which will be implemented as part of the agreement for the development of the Savinja region.  The nearly 1.3 million euro project will receive a contribution from the European Regional Development Fund amounting to over EUR 500,000.

The redevelopment project, which is to be carried out by the Municipality of Šentjur, aims at supporting the reconstruction and repurposing of the now vacant Aurea building to benefit the local community by housing a local business incubator.

Additional space at a new location will be gained to facilitate the operation of the business incubator Šentjur. Improved spatial and infrastructure conditions and better technological solutions will help optimize support services provided to the already operating businesses and startups.

The project aims to support the development and growth of SMEs in the local community and region enabling them to build a thriving business community, strengthen value chains in their specific domains and create employment opportunities at the regional and national level.
