Enhancing energy efficiency: Nearly EUR 5 million in EU funding for energy-saving renovation of the Edvard Peperko Military Post in Ljubljana

Ljubljana, 17 June 2022 – Government Office for Development and European Cohesion Policy has approved EUR 4.95 million in EU funding for the project Energy-saving renovation of the interior and exterior of the Edvard Peperko Military Post in Ljubljana. The Cohesion Fund-supported project will result in 15,000 square metres of net floor space renovated.

As part of the project, Ministry of Defence will carry out energy-saving renovation of ten buildings of the Edvard Peperko Military Post in Ljubljana. More specifically, the project will result in renovating the thermal envelope, roof, ceilings and joinery, establishment of a central control and ventilation system and installation of energy-saving lighting. The heating system will also be renovated. Thus, a good 15,000 square meters of floor space will be renovated.

This project is yet another in a series of projects for enhancing energy-efficiency in the public sector with the help of EU funds. At the end of November 2021, Government Office for Development and European Cohesion Policy approved EUR 627 thousand of Cohesion Fund-support for the project Energy-saving renovation of building no. 14 of the Baron Andrej Čehovin Military Post in Postojna.
