Clean waters for a green Slovenia: EU funding for wastewater infrastructure in Municipality Dravograd

Ljubljana, 21 October 2021 – Government Office for Development and European Cohesion Policy has approved EU funding for the project Wastewater collection and treatment in the Drava River basin – Municipality Dravograd. The project focuses on establishing public wastewater collection and treatment infrastructure in the Vič agglomeration.

As part of the project, municipality Dravograd intends to construct almost 3,000 metres of sewerage and two pumping stations. 232 inhabitants will benefit from improved wastewater treatment as 62 facilities will be connected to the new infrastructure. The project will improve the quality of life and reduce the Drava river water pollution.

Under the financial perspective 2014-2020 EUR 174.2 million of EU funding has already been allocated for 42 new constructions and renovations of sewerage systems.
