Clean water for a green Slovenia: EU funding for wastewater infrastructure in the Upper Sava River basin – Municipality Gorje

Ljubljana, 23 June 2021 – Government Office for Development and European Cohesion Policy has approved EU funding for the project Wastewater collection and treatment in the Upper Sava River basin – Municipality Gorje. The EUR 1 million project will be implemented by Municipality Gorje under the Agreement on the development of the Gorenjska region and supported by the EU, with the contribution from the Cohesion Fund totalling EUR 320,000.

As part of the project, a 1.8-kilometre long sewerage system will be constructed in the agglomeration Podhom allowing 223 residents in the agglomeration to be newly connected to the public system collecting and treating wastewater.

The project is scheduled to kick off this year and should be completed in 2022.
