Clean water for a green Slovenia: EU funding for wastewater infrastructure in Sevnica
Ljubljana, 19 July 2021 – Government Office for Development and European Cohesion Policy has approved EU funding for the project Wastewater collection and treatment in the Municipality Sevnica – Agreement on the Development of Regions. The EUR 967 thousand wastewater infrastructure project which Municipality Sevnica will implement under the Agreement on the Development of the Posavje Region will be supported by the EU, with the contribution from the Cohesion Fund amounting to almost EUR 466 thousand.
As part of the project, the municipality of Sevnica will construct seven gravity channels and two pressure channels with a total length of 1.58 kilometres and two pumping stations. Additional 144 residents will benefit from the improved wastewater treatment. With the investment and other measures, the Municipality of Sevnica will ensure that 98.16 percent of the Sevnica agglomeration will be connected to an adequate wastewater collection and treatment system.
