Ljubljana, 24 June 2021 – Government Office for Development and European Cohesion Policy has approved EU funding for the project Expansion of business and economic infrastructure in the Business Zone Ajdovščina – Mirce/Pod Fructalom. The EUR 1.2 million project will be implemented by Municipality Ajdovščina under the Agreement on the development of the Goriška region and supported by the EU, with the contribution from the European Regional Development Fund amounting to EUR 554,000.
The goal of this utility infrastructure and site development project that will be carried out by Municipality Ajdovščina is to expand the current business zone to two sections covering nearly 3 hectares, of which a 16,236 m2 plot of land will be intended for building purposes to provide office space. Access roads and a roundabout will be built, and the necessary utility infrastructure laid as part of the project. This will help increase the added value of SMEs and boost job creation.
The project is set to kick off in the fall and is scheduled to be completed sometime mid-2022.
