Boosting economy: EU funding for industrial zone in Ribnica
Ljubljana, 12 May 2021 – Government Office for Development and European Cohesion Policy has approved funding for the project “Arrangement of community and road infrastructure in Lepovče”. The project implemented by the municipality Ribnica under the Agreement on the Development of the Jugovzhodna Slovenija Region is worth EUR 388 thousand with the European Regional Development Fund contribution standing at EUR 175 thousand.
As part of the project, municipality Ribnica will equip the industrial zone with the relevant infrastructure by establishing community and road infrastructure on a segment of the local road in Lepovče, which is part of the Lepovče Industrial Zone. As part of the planned investment, the municipality will construct a road, a one-way pedestrian corridor, water supply and rainwater sewer system, and install public lighting. The project will be completed no later than at the beginning of this summer.
By establishing appropriate infrastructural conditions for business, the municipality will promote the development of small and medium-sized enterprises, which are key drivers of economic development in the region. This will also enhance their added value.
