Renovated community housing for vulnerable groups in Murska Sobota

Two buildings have been renovated and redesigned into six housing units accommodating the elderly and six housing units accommodating the homeless.

Public Housing Fund of the Urban Municipality Murska Sobota had two buildings, previously used as shelter for various vulnerable groups, including addicts, reconstructed and extended. With the construction of a new one-storey building with a basement, the municipality made sure that the vulnerable groups would get additional housing units with adequate sanitation and a large staffroom.  The renovation project helped tackle social degradation in the area which was a result of poorly maintained and underutilised buildings. The two buildings now accommodate a total of twelve housing units and provide programs that help improve the quality of life and boost social integration of vulnerable groups.

The investment which supports sustainable urban development is part of the Integrated Territorial Investments (ITI) mechanism.
