Model M Slovenia
‘’Model M Slovenia is about being young and a role model to others in finding a job in an innovative way or creating their own job,’’ explains mag. Anita Hrast, project manager. Training, networking and counselling given to young people in the context of the project, and their active citizen participation empowered young people to create their success models and define a career path either by getting a job or developing a business plan.
Nina Reiter, participant from Gornja Radgona, benefitted from the project by expanding her social network. ‘’I met great friends that I often still see. We were supportive of each other and encouraged each other while searching a job. Most of all, we were there for each other, because unemployment can quickly push one to the margins of society. The programme gave us an extra push and showed us there are many ways young people can go about finding a job.’’
Regional training sessions, free of charge, brought together young people, business owners, NGOs, and previous participants to mingle, network and get into work more easily. Also, programme participants learned about success stories of regional businesses and NGOs, got a chance to talk to employers and learned about their career paths. The project included 118 participants, 50 of whom got a job already by the end of May 2018.
