Ipavec House
Ipavec House and its garden are the centre of the Šentjur Zgornji trg Square boasting architecture typical of town squares and a preserved veduta. The house has a wedding hall for holding wedding ceremonies. Predominantly the House is used by the Municipality for hosting protocol and solemn events. Both the House and the garden with the old linden tree and the original Plečnik fountain are the location of various artistic and other events. Under the garden of Ipavec House there is a grassland with fruit tree plantations. The Municipality of Šentjur decided to upgrade this extremely popular location, which is the most photographed and recognisable motif of Šentjur, and developed a project proposal for its reconstruction. Under the call for proposals LAG from Pohorje to Bohor, Municipality Šentjur received EU funding for the project.
The pavilion, the centre of the Ipavec House, is made of stone portals covered with glass. The pavilion holds protocol ceremonies, official receptions, signing ceremonies and weddings. Along the way, there are various spots and cubes intended for socialising, sitting and taking photos. The garden is enclosed by a wooden fence that acts as a curtain or backdrop for photography. With the reconstruction an entire protocol ceremony can now be carried out outdoors, in the garden under the pavilion, with the possibility of photography, waitressing and socialising. A circular path with access stairs and a path to the pavilion has been designed in the Ipavec Garden which has enhanced the attractiveness of the location and brought new opportunities for holding various events.
