Energy renovation of non-profit housing in Novo mesto


Urban municipality of Novo mesto owns a multi-dwelling building at 22 Kočevarjeva ulica street comprising of 22 non-profit apartments. The building was energetically worn and, consequently, energetically wasteful. It was in need of renovation which improved its energy efficiency.

The building comprises a total of 1,081 m² of heated area covering all floors – the basement and all above ground floors. The energy renovation of the building included the installation of adequate thermal insulation covering the construction of a façade with thermal insulation and adding thermal insulation to the ceiling against the unheated attic, the walls and the floor against the unheated basement area, the floor of the basement housing and the installation of thermostatic valves and the repair of the lighting.

The project, implemented under the instrument Integrated Territorial Investment (ITI), improved the energy efficiency of the building. This reduced the negative environmental impact and the consumption of energy for heating and electricity as well as improved living conditions for 22 households and 50 inhabitants.
